Elementum

Elementum (noun) an archaic Latin word for elements, meaning earth, air, fire and water.

 

This series is an autobiographical interpretation of the four elements. Costumes are handcrafted using natural fabrics to highlight the importance of the connection between the artist and the creative process. The elements are personified as being tranquil and peaceful, showing how enriching it is to maintain a connection with nature in modern life.

 

Macro videography, personified elements and the creative process was documented to provide a powerful message. This message included: communicating to increase mindfulness and pay attention to details, to reconnect with nature and to find a better balance of living in the modern world. Covid-19 affected this project as locations, models and makeup artistry were limited, leading to original plans being adjusted.
